Funky Flashback: One Year Spectacular
On Saturday, September 2nd we celebrated One Year Here in Greenville, S.C. We’ve grown from 6,000 sq feet, 1 Foeder, 8 Puncheons, and 16 barrels in our original space to an expanded 15,000 sq feet, 6 Foeders, 22 Puncheons, and more than 120 barrels all here at Hampton Station.
So you missed the anniversary event? Or maybe you were there and want to relive it?
Here’s the recap from our big day.
The weather was stellar, blue skies and 70’s, a slight early fall breeze in the air. More than 1,500 people attended the eight hour party, drinking their way through the 20+ styles of Birds Fly South Beer we had on tap throughout the day. Speaking of drinks, we released five brand new brews on draft: New Boots Goofin’, Spontaneous.1, 1320 DIPA, Love.Birds.1 and Wolves in the Piano: Bourbon.
Live music in the biergarten moved us through the afternoon, starting with Phat Lip, the newest project from Kelly Jo Ramirez. The great lawn was filled with the shenanigans of TimTv and the Secret Cirkus. How rad to see kids of all ages in the interactive spin zones and in awe of the stilt-walking performers. At 4:30 Greenville’s own Darby and The Peep Show took over the music tent, accompanied as usual by her adorable dog Lucy. The LOZ Band rocked out the end of our evening while the Cirkus lit up the night with fire throwing madness. We wrapped up last call with the sky ablaze in a pink and orange sunset.
Most importantly, we are so grateful to the friendly folks that have been with us from the beginning, and continued to volunteer their support at this event. We couldn’t do what we do without them!
