Collaboration Release of Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout in Partnership with Weathered Souls Brewing
“A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THE INJUSTICES PEOPLE OF COLOR FACE DAILY AND RAISE FUNDS FOR POLICE BRUTALITY REFORM AND LEGAL DEFENSES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WRONGED.”
This beer, and this initiative, are both incredible examples of the love in the craft beer community. They serve as a testament to the beauty, courage, and power of all BIPOC around the world, and we’re honored to be a small part of this collaborative project with Weathered Souls and thousands of other craft breweries.
Weather Souls sent out a call to action a few months ago, amidst a rising wave of social unrest and anti-racist protests across the nation. They provided not only a recipe for the beer, but a guide to help breweries bring attention and funds to local organizations fighting for true freedom.
We’ve pledged to donate proceeds from the sale of our version of the beer to Urban League of The Upstate, a Greenville-based non-profit that seeks to, “advance equity by empowering black and other underserved communities through advocacy, education and economic stability.”
About the Beer:
Our variation on the Black is Beautiful recipe is a tropically-inspired Belgian stout. We brewed with cinnamon, vanilla, dried mango, orange peel and our house-made Belgian candy sugar. The result? A hefty 9.5% pour full of Belgian dark chocolate notes and hints of fruit.
We invite you to join us in this call, this opportunity, this very real human need. Black is Beautiful is available in 16oz canned 4-packs for $30 each online and at our brewery starting July 16th.
