When we at Birds Fly South Ale Project heard that Other Half Brewing out of NY was coordinating a nationwide collaboration beer project to help support those in the hospitality industry, we were happy to rally and support our local community. The mission of this project was to have profits from this beer go toward local workers directly affected by job loss from COVID-19.
Other Half provided the recipe guide for this hazy IPA brewed with Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe, which we brewed through our own methods here at Birds. We then produced and canned over 80 cases of this beer and sold it via our online shop and to-go beer options.
This resulted in raising over $600 dollars in funds to help our local hospitality folks. We decided to throw a taco party and use these proceeds to both buy industry folks some tacos while also supporting a local restaurant here at Hampton Station (White Duck Tacos). We wanted to give back and also create a reason for people directly impacted to have some fun. Our motto here at Birds is “Be a Community, Grow a Community” and we try to live that out in tangible ways whenever possible. Thank you for your support and helping make this fundraising effort a success!
