Birds Fly South Ale Project | Greenville, SC

Birds Fly South Ale Project was born out of a passion project by husband & wife duo Shawn & Lindsay Johnson in 2016, and has grown to become a renowned craft beer force in the southeast. Gaining notoriety with our Brettanomyces focused saisons, hoppy farmhouse beers & sours, we’ve since grown a larger “flock” through our delicious lagers, IPAs, and barrel aging program.

Funk First.

Although we continue to evolve our brewing with the latest trends and styles, we will always be funk at our core. This means laboring and perfecting the innerworkings of wild beer methods while and working with materials such as brett, open fermentation, wine barrels, just to give you a taste. What else does “funk first” mean?

Tasting Room

Urban Farmhouse & Beer Garden | Hampton Station

A spacious setting in a reissuanced wool mill offering plenty of seating options to circle up and enjoy beer and conversation with friends and community in our taproom. Whether (more like weather) you’d like to sit outdoors or inside, we provide an atmosphere that’s welcoming to all. Our large garage doors open into a beer garden with shady trees and picnic tables where you can enjoy the outdoors with plenty of rooms for kiddos and dogs to be a part of the experience as well.
